Cracked or missing tiles in swimming pools and spas can indicate more than just an appearance problem. While tiles can fall off simply because of age or because poor adhesives were used to install them originally, they often break or pop off due to:

• Ground movement
• Inadequate drainage
• Cracked decking
• Expansive soil conditions
• Leaks or cracks developing behind the tile as a result of moisture between the grout and concrete degrading the adhesion and bond
• The original bond beam not having been properly prepped to accept the trim tile.
